Latest attempts

Here are the last two quilts I am finishing off, or have finished.  As the weather has been so awful, I have not been out in the shed to quilt.  Had a nice couple of days last week, so got out there and quilted the zigzag quilt.  Just a pattern I made up after looking at the web. I didn't quilt the zigzag bits as I like the way they 'pop' out from the fabric and the quilting.

Sorry, this is sideways.....

right way

Am nearly finished appliquing this Maid in Japan quilt.  I added another row of maids, and it has taken a bit longer. It is to go on a double bed, so needed to be wider. I got all the maids dresses from one charm pack, with just a few scraps from my collection. I have even embroidered the eyes and mouth using backstitch, so much easier than trying to applique those small bits!

Some of our visitors over the last couple of weeks.

The Maned Geese have been regulars on our dam for a couple of years now.  Last year they had 9 babies, this year only the two, and they are growing so quickly.  Quite happy for us to sit on the deck and watch them, but as soon as the cat appears, they are into the middle of the dam.
