2012 is here!

Happy New Year to you all!!!

Well, 2012 is finally here, and I have been able to get a few things ready to post on here.
Had a bit of a health scare in September with pancreatitus, and then having my gall bladder out in October. But since then, have been feeling great, although not very craft inspired.
I finally sorted out how to finish off my DGS's quilt for his big bed. Had to work out the size of the small blocks to incorporate around the larger blocks from the Micheal Miller 'Transport' panel (maths is NOT my strong point), and finally decided to applique the smaller ones onto the quilt after I had finished joining it all together. I think it looks ok, and will certainly survive many washes!!
For a 'Christmas swap' with my craft group, we had to make a pot holder, and this is my effort. It is not really for oven use, but the lady that received it in the swap could not have been happier as she is a huge cat lover.
While we had our Christmas break up party, we all got to make something easy to take home. I made this little owl, who now sits on my computer - hopefully instilling some wisdom as I write....
It was so easy to make, have the pattern if anyone wants me to email them.
And as DGS is getting a quilt, I prepared another for DGD - "he got a quilt and I didn't" - it is her birthday in March, so she can have it for then. If the ladies on the craft forum look closely, they might see a lot of the fat 1/8th fabrics in it. Didn't cost me a cent, used whatever I had in my
stash.
Take care, hope it's a great crafty year for you....
