New Year, New Beginnings
Well, it is now February 2011, and I am just getting into the swing of things. It has taken a while to get the sewing bug, but in the meantime, I have finished off a few projects I started last year.
So, happy quilting, will post again soon,
I love making the hexi's, and always have some ready to go. I can take them anywhere, and sit and sew. The quilt top just covers the top of our QS bed, but I want to make it a bit wider, and a bit longer. Everyone that sees this one loves it... Must be their idea of a 'real quilt'. It is also a good way to get rid of left over wadding, and scraps of material. I am sticking to plain homespun/calico for the backing as it is always available.
The green/purple quilt is the first one I have actually quilted on my frame. It has taken me 10 months, with lots of stopping for holidays, but I finally finished it in January. I must say, it is sooo much easier than getting down and pinning the quilt, won't ever have to do that again - I hope!! Don't look too closely, but the stippling is no too bad for my first go on the frame.
The frame has been a bit of a nightmare; geting it set up; making sure I had the quilt on the RIGHT way, and then setting the machine up to sew. But is has done it's first job now and I am happy with the results.
And the Orange strippy quilt... I started this about 12 months ago, but run out of enthusiam for it, lots of sewing strips to backing fabric etc. But I finally got it together, added the blue posts to give it a bit of a lift, and it's now ready to quilt too.
So, happy quilting, will post again soon,
Cheers
Roseanne
