Well, I finally finished and handed over the Dinosaur quilt, and it looks good on the bed. And I have included a pic of the money boxes we found in Queensland with the DGKs names on them. Aren't they cute??

I went to the first Australian Machine Quilter's Festival last weekend, and it was great fun. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of the class I did with Pam Clarke. She was really easy to listen to, and had lots of tips about quilting. Although she had a long arm machine, she said that many patterns can be adapted to a home machine.

We learned how to do scallops, orange peel, feathers, wavy lines, free motion hearts on vines etc. She then showed how to mark a quilt with chalk or a 'blue' pen. She suggested only marking about 1/4 of the quilt if using chalk, otherwise the chalk rubs off too easily.

There were lots of quilts on display in a big hall and we went around after the class and checked them to see how they had been quilted. Got lots of ideas now!!

Have also been busy with my large hexies, and have them laid out ready to join together. trouble is my fingers are sore from hand sewing!!!
