All I want for Christmas is....

I was lucky enough to win this quilting frame on EBay with the highest bid. It was meant to be, as the frame was in Melbourne, and was pick up only. My brother and Sister in Law were coming over for a pre-Christmas catch up with our daughter who was down from Queensland for a visit. So they brought it over with them.

They came over on the Friday night, and we had a lovely big family dinner at our place on Saturday 19th December. There were 13 of us, and we had a great feast.

Our daughter, SIL and GKs were only here for a week, and the highlight was Monarto Zoo, and lunch with all the family. It was nice for the family to meet Thomas, the GS who lives here with our other daughter & SIL and GD.

Now the fun begins with the frame....

Which goes with what. What size to make. Lots of decisions!

My latest achievement

I am not one for normally bragging, but I AM pleased with myself at the moment. On Tuesday December 1st, 2009, I went to the Blood Bank for my usual donation. But this one was special, as it was my 100th!

They treated my like a princess, and all of the girls came over and congratulated me on my commitment, and helping to save over 300 lives. And they gave me this medallion as a token of that commitment.

I started donating in Victoria in 1972, and I can tell you now, I have seen a lot of changes over that time. From glass bottles, local injections, giving you a beer (in early Darwin days!) to just as they do it now, with no local. I have donated in Melbourne, Darwin, Alice Springs, and now in Adelaide, so I am spread around.
