I found this quilt in Country Patchwork & Craft mag, designed by Karyn Herbert. As we travel a lot, I decided to applique the butterflies onto the blocks, and then I could do it while travelling. I am sure you can imagine me sitting on the beach at Streaky Bay, doing these! I often make up blocks to take away, as it gives me something to do in the car, or while relaxing. When I have completed them, I put them away until I feel like making up the quilt.
This quilt is from a pattern by Chris Judd, in APQ mag. I just loved the colours of it, and I even had enough pieces to complete it - apart from the main background material.
Can't remember where i saw this one, but loved the country feel of it. Again, it was one I took away, in blocks, to do while on the road.
This one I made using 2 packs of Kaffe Fassett charm squares. Amazingly the best colour to go with them all was this soft green, but I offset that with his purple aqua spot for the border.
Love purple, orange and green, so made this. Can't remember if it was from a pattern or not. Have not done off set blocks before, was a bit of a challenge not to get the bias being pulled out of shape. I quilted around the purple border with orange thread.
This is the first Redwork I have done, and I just loved it. Tita Leach does some beautiful work, and I think there is a series of these wall panels. I wasen't sure how to quilt it as I had lost the instructions. So I just went round it all close to the edges.
This is what you can make with leftovers! I went to a day course at Patchwork Treasures a couple of years ago, and with scraps from another quilt, made this too. They are so quick to make, and the more colours you use, the better it looks. Have a look on here for Kaili's quilt. That is the one I made at the workshop.
