Have just returned from a trip to Queensland to hand over a quilt I made for our grandson Ethan's 6th birthday. It was great to hand it over, it had taken me 6 months to complete. I bought the kit from a quilt shop in Murgon (which has since closed), and when nearly complete I contacted them to see if they had a small amount of sky material to complete the last block. They did. When we went up to hand it over to Ethan, I took it to Murgon and showed them. They were delighted to see the quilt finished - so was I!!!!
While visiting our family, we were gob-smacked when our other daughter arrived for a visit with her husband and daughter. It was the first time our side of the family had been together since my 60th birthday in April 2007. We spent the next couple of days enjoying watching the grandkids getting to know each other again.
Was fantastic for us to see them all together, all that you can ask for as parents, grandparents.
Now back at home, enjoying the moment over again.
